Officers called out to Bauman to stay where he was, as he was dangerously close to falling off the c




Wednesday payless rental car morning October 10 th just after 8:30 Newport Police Officers were dispatched to the Shilo Inn on a report of a male subject payless rental car discovered trespassing on the property. Information given to police indicated that a maintenance supervisor had discovered a male subject inside a locked storage closet. The male subject had fled and jumped over the fence towards the ocean; he was on a cliff near the Shilo Inn parking structure. payless rental car Arriving officers soon discovered 24-year old Robert Lee Bauman of Newport was hiding in the brush on the west side of the building, near the cliff's payless rental car edge.
Officers called out to Bauman to stay where he was, as he was dangerously close to falling off the cliff, but he refused. A Newport Police Officer threw Bauman a rescue rope in an attempt to help him while Newport Fire Department personnel responded to the scene. Bauman refused to take hold of the rope, and fell off the cliff. A Newport Police Sergeant who was on the beach below the motel witnessed the fall. Bauman fell into some heavy brush at the base of the cliff that appeared to have broken his fall and became trapped in the blackberry bushes and other undergrowth.
An Oregon State Police Sergeant arrived on the beach and assisted in removing Bauman from the brush and stabilizing him until Newport Fire Department personnel arrived on scene. Fire and Police Department personnel placed Bauman in a rescue litter to remove him from the cliff. He was transported by Pacific West Ambulance to Samaritan payless rental car Pacific Communities Hospital for treatment of the injuries suffered in the fall and for severe methamphetamine intoxication. payless rental car Bauman faces charges of Parole Violation and Criminal Trespass once he is released from the hospital.
