Best case scenario, someone else is able to relace that passenger and a name change can be completed

A  complimentary hold can usually be placed on a cabin for 24 hours with just first and last names, however, this is only available if you are working with a cruise guide over the phone. There is no option online to hold a reservation.  There is no obligation to book,  it just locks in the price of the cruise (as the rates can change by the hour!) and gives you a chance to think about it before putting money on the reservation. If you decide against that particular cruise (noooo!), the reservation will cancel automatically without any penalty or repercussion.
Placing a deposit on a cruise will confirm your space onboard and lock in the rates for you.  Deposits are always per person unless otherwise stated, leeds hotels based on the length of the cruise, and completely leeds hotels refundable until your final payment date unless you have booked a rate that is non-refundable (this would have been discussed before any payment made, check with your cruise guide if you are unsure).
If you decide to book your cruise within 75 days of departure, the full payment will be due to Celebrity . Holiday cruises and sailings to the Galapagos are the exception, with the deposits required 90 days prior to sailing.
We note the final payment date on your confirmation a week early, allowing buffer time for anyone paying by check enough time for processing and flexbility with rate changes or cancellations.  Celebrity reserves the right to auto-cancel your reservation if final payments are not made on or before the final payment date.  If the cruise line cancels your reservation due to lack of final payment, the deposit will no longer be refundable.

However, one passenger s name on the original reservation MUST stay the SAME per cabin so if 2 are booked, and 2 can t go you cannot make 2 name changes.
