We had a second bus tour from Glasgow, called "Castles, Lochs and Whisky". Our first stop on the tou

Last Tuesday, Jack and I left Lancashire to travel to Scotland hotel deals last minute for a week. The plan was to hop on a train from Preston straight through to Edinburgh since it's only 2 1/2 hours away. This did not happen. We got on a train that would supposedly take us there, but it broke down at a tiny station in the middle of nowhere. From there, we had to get a train to Glasgow, then another one to Edinburgh. Our 2 1/2 hours of travel turned into 5. We did eventually wind up getting to our B B and headed straight for the pub after we checked in.
The next day was spent wandering Edinburgh. It was a beautiful city and was definitely one of my favourites in all of the United Kindom and Ireland. We were fortunate enough to be in Edinburgh during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, so the city was extremely lively and there were free performances everywhere. We also saw Edinburgh Castle and a ton of other cool places.
This is Edinburgh Castle. We didn't actually go in because it cost a fair bit of money, but it was gorgeous from the outside. We also walked up the hill to get to it and hung around the area for a while.
We took an overnight hotel deals last minute bus tour from Edinburgh through the Highlands. It started out a little rocky since our bus showed hotel deals last minute up and was a seat short, so they had to go exchange seats, otherwise someone would be left behind. hotel deals last minute Eventually we were able to leave Edinburgh and headed north. We went to a ton of cool little places and drove through Inverness, which is gorgeous. We spent the night in a little town outside of Inverness about a five minute drive from Loch Ness. The B B we stayed in was absolutely fantastic; I've never been in such a great room before.
The next morning we got a full Scottish breakfast and headed straight to the banks of Loch Ness to look for Nessie. At the loch, we were given the option to spend a ton of money and get on a boat, or we could choose to go for tea and look for Nessie on our own time. Being on a student budget, Jack and I were the only ones on our bus tour to opt out of the boat and walked through a TINY town after we stopped for tea. We did not see Nessie, but we figured as much.
Later that day, our bus pulled over at a mountain a couple miles from Ben Nevis (the tallest mountain in the UK). We started hiking up the mountain with our bus driver because he said we'd take a little walk. Our little walk turned into going up a ton of the mountain! Our reasoning for this was that there were midges everywhere and if we stayed still too long, we'd be bitten. We were bitten anyway. From the mountain, we headed back to Edinburgh, but stopped to take a picture of Stirling Castle. Back in Edinburgh, we headed out for a "fancy" Italian dinner where we got semi-dressed up and ordered wine. It was nice seeing Edinburgh properly at night and we stayed out a while after dinner because our hostel that night was disappointing to say the least. Still a good night!
From Edinburgh, hotel deals last minute we took a train to Glasgow. We were extremely tired, and spent the majority of the day being lazy. To be honest, we didn't miss out on much. Glasgow is boring! Our B B seemed more like a hotel though, and it was quite nice. We were adventurous at dinner and headed out for sushi. Sadly, our favourite thing they offered was the chicken maki, which is deep fried chicken in seaweed and rice. My guess is, it's not particularly Japanese. Ah well, the sushi was delicious!
We had a second bus tour from Glasgow, called "Castles, Lochs and Whisky". Our first stop on the tour was at Stirling Castle, which we had seen in passing two days previously. This time, we got to wander through the castle though, and it was definitely the most entertaining castle I've been to. Next we headed over to Loch Lomond, and to be honest, I really don't remember what it was like. We did stop to eat at a pub near a really old oak tree though. From there, we headed to a whisky distillery. The distillery gave us each a small glass of 10 year-old whisky. Jack got to drink my glass as well, because I have had far too much whisky at once to enjoy it anymore... Ah well, it's really my own fault. We were so tired by the end of the day that we ordered Chinese food to the hotel after the bus returned and fell asleep by 10 (our usual is more like 2am).
The last day in Glasgow was supposed hotel deals last minute to be used to explore the city. Like I said before though, Glasgow is boring. Unless hotel deals last minute tourists want to shop excessively, there is absolutely hotel deals last minute nothing to do. We wandered the town for a little while and didn't really do much. It was a very relaxing final day, and we had to wake up bright and early the next day to head to the airport. It was sad.
I am sugar, spice, and everything nice, with emphasis on the spice. I am a pretty old-fashioned person in a modern sort of way. I believe that hard work pays off, but not at the cost of my own enjoyment. I love literature, but I hate being told that what to read. Family is the most important thing in the world unless they're being bothersome. Really, just take a whole bunch of crap, make it entirely hypocritical, hotel deals last minute and there I am. It sounds simple, but it's oh so complex.
