As you will be aware the 4th annual GIY Gathering takes place on the 15th and 16th of September as part of the Waterford car rental company Harvest Festival in Waterford City. This year s event has a truly international feel, bringing together some of the world s leading experts and advocates on food growing car rental company from Ireland, UK, US and New Zealand. Speakers include a BBC Gardeners World presenter, the head gardener from River Cottage and the inspiration for Michelle Obama s White House garden.
There will be events taking place in 5 locations the Theatre Royal, Greyfriars, 2 theatres in the new Museum and the Large Room in City Hall. We need the help of volunteers to make the Gathering a success.
On Sunday there will be a Market on the Quay, they are expecting 50,000 people so we need all the help we can get. We are asking if people could volunteer for a half day on Sunday either 9am 1pm or 1pm 5pm, So that our volunteers have an opportunity to see the other events that are going on during the festival.
