After a cold and rainy day, we were going on a tour that would take us across much of Scotland and were excited that it was bright and sunny. We booked the tour with Rabbies , which offered smaller tours like the one we took to Stonehenge. This company got consistently high reviews and those reviews are well deserved. Our kilt-wearing tour guide, Jonathan, was friendly and informative, the places we went to were beautiful, and the overall experience was very good.
There was one problem, however, not having to do with anything but the logistics discount grand hotel bangkok of driving from Edinburgh to Loch Ness and back: it s a lot of driving. When booking a tour like this, make sure you know what you are getting into. We did enjoy ourselves, but definitely take into consideration how far you are actually going.
We left Edinburgh discount grand hotel bangkok at around 8am and didn t arrive back until after 8pm. In between, we were mostly on the bus, stopping a few times in between. The downside is that you are in a bus for much of the day, but the upside to a tour like this is that you see practically everything you possibly could see. You re driving through most of it, but you still see all of it. I guess that s why the tour is called Scotland in a Day.
There s a lot of history you re being driven through discount grand hotel bangkok and the guides have an encyclopedic knowledge, telling a story around every curve of the road. We heard all about Robert the Bruce, William Wallace, and Rob Roy MacGregor. We saw Rannoch Moor and Glencoe, the Grampian Mountains, and towns like Callander and Pitlochry. We passed by Stirling Castle and Blair Castle.
The whole point of the trip is to get you up to Loch Ness and most of your time will be spent there. We went on an optional discount grand hotel bangkok boat tour of Loch Ness, which is definitely recommended since it s the only good way to see it.
After Loch Ness, we made our way back to Edinburgh. It was another long drive with a few stops in between. When we got back, we took a quick detour to find Greyfriars Bobby before discount grand hotel bangkok having dinner and then heading back to the hotel for the night.
