"That was the first home game I was on the sidelines for in 12 years," says the Calgary Stampeders long snapper. "I was running up and down the sidelines with a towel, hollywood hotels trying to rally the fans, banging signs together and losing my voice.
Don't get Chevrier wrong. Yes, he was all smiles on the sidelines Thursday in a 41-38 Calgary victory over the visiting Saskatchewan Roughriders. And yes, he soaked up ever part of the experience — watching the fans in the crowd, encouraging his teammates on the sidelines — as opposed to moping and feeling sorry for himself.
