If I book SS and wait list AKL, will I still have to go in and cancel SS if the wait list comes thro

Wait list question So, we have had to cancel our November trip and we are now looking to go in January. I can get the full week (actually 8 nights/9 days! ) at Saratoga Springs but we would really like to stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge, our home resort.
If I book SS and wait list AKL, will I still have to go in and cancel SS if the wait list comes through? There is actually only one night that isn't available right now and if it was at the beginning or the end of our trip I would just book AKL and stay somewhere else that night, but it's our second night there.
I guess my other option thrifty car rental sales is to book SS the first two nights, book the other 7 nights at AKL, wait list those first two nights and hope for the best. Again, thrifty car rental sales I'm guessing I would have to cancel SS if the wait list came through? I don't want to get settled in somewhere, have to move for one night and then move back to where we were originally were.

FWIW, I would book the 2 nights SSR and others at AKV. It's a risk but chances are someone else will book those other AKV nights sooner or later. Then you're stuck waiting for all 8/9 nights at AKV instead thrifty car rental sales of just 2.
Finally thrifty car rental sales managed to do space Mountain after a lot of persuasion from my two lovely teenagers. My Countdown Counting down to: Visit to London and Harry Potter studios in Watford 8 days, 23 hours, 9 minutes
Thanks! I booked AKL for the seven nights, we are so excited!!! We haven't decided what we're doing about the other two nights, we might just stay in a moderate resort because staying in a Savannah view puts us close to using all of our points and we'd almost just rather roll over the 40 points to 2013.
Now to start making dining reservations! I've been checking every day, I would absolutely love to get in to Be Our Guest but I don't see that happening. Wish we would have known earlier that we were going in January, I would have booked that ASAP!!!
