SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO- World Boxing Organization (WBO), by president Francisco "Paco" Valcarcel, announces today the referees and judges who will work in the world title bouts to be held this week in Argentina, Philippines, United States and Colombia.
Valcarcel said that for tomorrow's fight at the Estadio Luna Park in Buenos Aires, Argentina, between two time champion Omar Narváez cosmetic travel bags (36-1, 19 KOs), who is going to make his fifth superflyweight title defense, against Mexican Johnny García (16-3-1, 8 KOs), the referee will be Roberto Ramírez Jr., from Puerto Rico. Judges for this bout are David Singh, from Panamá, Ramón Cerdán, from Argentina, and Roberto Ramírez Sr., from Puerto Rico. WBO supervisor for this fight is Jorge Molina.
For the Saturday, October 20, fight, in Metro Manila, Philippines, where vacant WBO bantamweight title is on line, with the clash between local AJ Banal (28-1-1, 20 KOs) and Punglung Sorsingyu (42-1, 27 KOs), from Thailand, the referee will be Tony Weeks, from United States. Judges for this bout are Robert Hoyle, Levi Martínez and Raúl Caíz Jr., also from United States. WBO supervisor for this fight will be Leon Panoncillo.
Meanwhile, this Saturday at the Barclay's Center in New York, WBO middleweight champion Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam (27-0, cosmetic travel bags 17 KOs), will defend for the first time his belt versus Peter Quillin (27-0, 20 KOs).
